Rally in support of anti coal protestors
Posted October 4th, 2008 by AnonymousOn 13th June a coal train heading for Drax power station was stopped for a few hours by 29 anti-coal protestors. Drax is western Europe’s biggest industrial source of CO2 with annual emissions of 20.8 million tonnes. The protestors were stopped by the police and will appear in court. Who will stop Drax? If we continue burning fossil fuels like coal, millions of people will die due to climate change. It’s time to act and support those who are fighting it. Come and support them outside the court in a peaceful rally.

Eco-Action: The Drax-29 trial comes to York
Posted August 27th, 2008 by AnonymousAs some of you reading this might recall, 29 people stopped and occupied a coal train heading to Drax Power Station some months back. Their case is being moved to York Crown Court, making us the obvious organisers for solidarity stuff, and giving us some opportunities of the "solid gold" sort for generating more eco-action in the city. This meeting will look at two things: the initial hearing on 7th October, and the sorts of stuff we want to offer/facilitate/create in the next few months.

York Eco Action // Black Swan
Posted September 25th, 2007 by GrahamSorry for late posting...
York Eco-Action will meet again to finish off the group's principles text and to plan for various upcoming events and actions. The aim of the rethink about the group's workings is hoped to make the group more of an ongoing concern and to ensure some kind of continuity between Climate and other environmentally related protest actions. If you're concerned about the planet and want to be involved in action to protect it, come along from 7.30 (meet starts at 8pm) and we'll be in one of the two front rooms.
