52 Medical Secretaries Vote by 98% For Strike Action

GMB members employed as Medical Secretaries at York Hospital have voted in favour of industrial action.

Following a long run dispute over the pay banding of medical secretaries which was not resolved by the Trust using the grievance procedure, GMB members were left disappointed, angry and frustrated. GMB members were recently balloted for industrial action.

The outcome of this ballot has been forwarded to the Trust and a meeting will take place with Joan Keane, GMB Regional Organiser for Health, Patrick Crowley, Acting Chief Executive and Peta Hayward, Human Resources Director at 10 am today (Tuesday).
