Climate Change Camp established

The Climate camp is now well established. A few hundred activists are settled in and having a great time. Workshops on everything from Deep ecology to Direct Action training and Salsa are going on as I type this.

There is a sizeable police presence around the site but, as yet, they are being relatively friendly. Being welcomed at the station by a policeman greeter who directed us to where the shuttlebus was waiting was quite a nice experience but they have already started to get impatient and they have imposed a Section 60 notice.

It's really not far from York (20 minutes on the train to Selby) so please come along and take part. Thursday will be a Day of Mass Action against Drax Power Station and the days leading up to then will be preparation for that.

See the special Climate Camp reports section of UK Indymedia for up to date reports from the camp http://www.indymedia.org.uk/en/actions/2006/climatecamp/
