BNP activists told to leave area
It didn't need hours of preparation. I didn't need a national organisation. I didn't need violence. When a BNP campaigner was seen posting leaflets through letterboxes in the Leeman Road area of Holgate Ward, the people on the receiving end of their vile propaganda knew exactly what to do: tell the BNP to leave the area.
At tea time Wednesday, around 8-10 residents from around Lincoln Street emerged from their houses to tell the BNP campaigner to take the leaflets back and get out of the area. With just straight and firm talking, the person in question left that part of the area. Its unknown whether they bothered elsewhere, or what the response was, but Leeman Road made itself perfectly clear: The BNP are not welcome in this part of town!
Discussions ensued in the street as others came out to see what was going on, and at least one resident took to telling everyone in the entire street who would listen that they must use their vote against the BNP tomorrow.
