Eco-Action: The Drax-29 trial comes to York

Event time:
28 Aug 2008 - 19:30
Details:

As some of you reading this might recall, 29 people stopped and occupied a coal train heading to Drax Power Station some months back. Their case is being moved to York Crown Court, making us the obvious organisers for solidarity stuff, and giving us some opportunities of the "solid gold" sort for generating more eco-action in the city. This meeting will look at two things: the initial hearing on 7th October, and the sorts of stuff we want to offer/facilitate/create in the next few months.

Location:

Black Swan Inn, Peaseholme Green, York

27 Sep 2007 - 20:00 - 27 Sep 2007 - 21:30
Details:

Sorry for late posting...

York Eco-Action will meet again to finish off the group's principles text and to plan for various upcoming events and actions. The aim of the rethink about the group's workings is hoped to make the group more of an ongoing concern and to ensure some kind of continuity between Climate and other environmentally related protest actions. If you're concerned about the planet and want to be involved in action to protect it, come along from 7.30 (meet starts at 8pm) and we'll be in one of the two front rooms.

Eco-Action Meeting

Event time:
7 Sep 2007 - 19:30 - 7 Sep 2007 - 21:00
Details:

Having not met for months, Eco-action is back, with an informal meeting after Critical Mass on Friday! We'll run through various stuff like how the group should run (as opposed to how it didn't run when it was last active) and what projects we should get involved with, such as the incinerator campaign, Buy Nothing Day, or something completely new. If you have an environmental concern and want to take action rather than waiting for elected officials to get round to it, then please turn up, or better still, come join Critical Mass at the Minster just before 6pm!

Location:

The Ackthorne Pub
Go to the bottom of Mickelgate, and you'll see a church (not the one half-way up!).
There's a small road down the right hand side, with the pub on it, just behind the church.
There'll probably be a fair few bikes outside!

We hope to have food available throughout the event, and children's entertainment is also planned.

Details of what’s planned and how to book a stall are on the event's websites http://www.myspace.com/yorkgreenfestival and http://ygf2007.blogspot.com. The festival is not organised by the Green Party, before anyone asks!
