Boycott Israeli Goods
Boycott Israeli Goods Day of Action
Posted October 9th, 2006 by AnonymousWe focused on one of York’s two out-of-town Tescos. We devised our own leaflet explaining why the boycott and what goods to look out for. Half a dozen activists arrived at the site before the morning rush, and spread our BIG yellow banner (as seen outside York Minster, and at dozens of other events in the past three years) to alert shoppers to the day’s action. Perhaps the most effective communication was the series of one-to-one conversations with shoppers as they got out of their cars or trundled their trolleys around.
Protesters call on Sainsbury's shoppers to Boycott Israeli Goods
Posted August 12th, 2006 by AnonymousProtesters paid a visit to York's central Sainsbury's store today to highlight to presence of Israeli produce on the shelves. The products of companies like Danone and Carmel, and even fresh lichees came under the spotlight as leaflets appeared around the store calling on customers to join the international boycott and end the sale of these products. The action happened to coincide with an international day of action for peace and justice in Lebanon and Palestine.
