WOW York!

From nothing five months ago WOW York has a local union up and running - supporting people at work.

22 workers have received practical advice and support from Wow York, including representation in their workplace.

York workers have had disciplinary charges dropped, missing wages paid up, extra shifts offered and over £25,000 paid in compensation.

Most importantly WOW York workers have experienced dignity at work and the power of local union organisation.

And we’ve had fun doing it, so if you want to act local then we want to hear from you.

This is a call out for people to help build a new workers movement in York. Under the banner WOW York the IWW http://www.iww.org.uk/ will create a strong and vibrant local organisation that supports workers today and builds for a brighter future.

Help create a new, imaginative, life changing, confident local union. We welcome all fellow travellers as we try and unite York workers - identifying common issues and realising collective strength.
