Greenspeaks are a series of informal discussions on Green issues - come along and join in.

Greenspeaks are a chance to discuss green issues and politics in an informal café type atmosphere.

Held every month at New Millers Yard, Gillygate from 7pm - 9pm (Doors open 6:30pm).

University threat to York's green belt

Research by the Guardian and the Campaign to Protect Rural England shows at least 10,000 acres of greenbelt land are likely to be sacrificed to build some of the biggest developments in Britain in the past 30 years.

The research identifies major erosion of the greenbelt in many areas:

· Bath, York, Oxford and Cambridge universities want to release large amounts of greenbelt land which they own.
