Trade & Debt Justice (Planning Meeting)
Posted September 14th, 2007 by GrahamYork Trade & Debt Justice is the combination of York's Trade Justice and Jubilee Debt groups, campaigning against the injustices of global finance. The group aims to raise awareness of the crises caused by bad development policy on the countries of the Global South. The group also campaigns on Climate Change and its effects on the most vulnerable; those who live in the very same countries Britain has traditionally exploited through debt and unjust trade systems. Everyone is welcome to take part in the planning of future campaign events.

Climate March Coach a Success
Posted November 5th, 2006 by GrahamYork's contribution to the International Climate Day events in London was a sold-out bus to London, though the company sent a bus with 4 extra seats! Despite earlier fears that the bus would fail to sell, and a decision by York Trade & Debt Justice to subsidise, the last available ticket sold early in the week, and the bus broke even.
York People&Planet group sold tickets on campus, despite most of their active members going to London the day before for a national conference. Some of the students on the bus got off early and took the tube to reach the start of the Student Carnival, organised by People&Planet, where they met those already in London.
