York Trade & Debt Justice is the combination of York's Trade Justice and Jubilee Debt groups, campaigning against the injustices of global finance. The group aims to raise awareness of the crises caused by bad development policy on the countries of the Global South. The group also campaigns on Climate Change and its effects on the most vulnerable; those who live in the very same countries Britain has traditionally exploited through debt and unjust trade systems. Everyone is welcome to take part in the planning of future campaign events.

The group has shrunk a bit since Make Poverty History, but we're really keen to build things up again. Theres lots going on right now, including the build up to the National Climate March (4th November), and 2006 White Band Day. There's also the ongoing "Cut the Strings" campaign against harmful conditions being placed on Debt Relief, and questions about where the Trade Justice Campaign goes next. Please join us and help keep the vision of a poverty free world alive!

This is a planning meeting open to all those wanting to end global poverty, by tackling the causes, such as Unfair Trade Rules, Huge international debt, dodgy aid deals and environmental destruction.
